Diving with the Tiger Sharks of the Bahamas is one of those in-water experiences that gives you pause for thought regarding your own personal welfare.
Tigers are big sharks – fourth biggest in overall size, just behind the Great White, with an average length of around 4-5m but known to reach up to 6m.

They are also dangerous sharks, with a reputation for aggressive behavior and eating anything they can find, including it is said, humans… and dead Tiger Shark stomachs have been found to contain everything from car tires to boat parts!
Tiger Beach in the Bahamas is one of the best places in the world to dive with them and stories of the encounters possible there are legend withing the global diving community. It’s one hell of a journey from Australia, but last year I did it over three days and then spent a week experiencing the Tiger Sharks of the Bahamas for myself.
It truly was a unique experience, but not really the one I was expecting!
